Roland Egger grew up bilingual in a small village of the Italian Alps. He is the part-time professional in the band. Though Roland won his first award in a local singing competition at the early age of eight, he discovered the attraction for drums much later, when he was fifteen. He taught himself drumming by slowing down the speed of his record player as much as necessary to see through the patterns and fills of his great idols. Doing so for years, Roland memorized almost every vocal part; bass line and guitar lick too. He developed a particular sense of hearing and the ability of lead singing and drumming simultaneously with remarkable ease. Soon after his language studies in the UK, Roland inherited his fathers business and lived from than on with two hearts beating in his chest: business and music. Thanks to his great stylistic versatility, today Roland is a musician in great demand who has shared the stage with many inspiring international musicians.
He is co-founder of the legendary Incredible Southern Blues Band and essential for top groups like Soul Breeze, Threeo Jazz, Pippo Guarnera Trio, the James Thompson Band, Le Magreen and the newly formed Speelbergs.
Roland Egger plays Yamaha PHX drums and AK snares.
